MAJOR TOURNAMENT
          

ENTRY FEE $10

 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

Team Skins is a four man scramble.  Sign up individually and partners will be assigned based on handicaps.  The entry field will be divided into four Flights (A,B,C,D) from low to high handicaps.  Teams (foursomes) will be comprised of one player from each Flight.

The Flight A player will be designated as “Captain” and will make all decisions for the Team during play.  Two score cards are to be kept during the round of play and turned in to the Tournament Scoring Committee.  Both cards must be signed by all team members.  The Captain and all team members are responsible to ensure that both score cards record the same information.  Discrepancies may lead to disqualification of part or all of the team’s results. 

For payout purposed the teams will be divided into two Groups.  The highest handicap Captains will form one group and the lower handicap Captains the other Group.

TOURNAMENT PROCEDURE:

All team members hit a tee shot and the Captain selects a ball to continue play.  Once the ball in selected, each player will hit a ball from that position and the Captain selects the best ball.  This procedure is followed until the ball is holed out.

RULES:

  1. The Team shall record which player hit the “Drive” selected by the Captain.
  2. The Flight A and B player must each hit four (4) drives during the round of play. 
  3. The Flight C and D players must hit a combined total of four (4) drives.
  4. The Ball in play may be moved one club length in the fairway or rough but no closer to the green.  A ball may not be moved in bounds, out of a sand trap, or onto the putting green by the “one club” rule.
  5. The Ball can be move up to six inches on the green but no closer to the hole.

                1. Captain Absent  ----- #2 Player plays two shots
                2. #2 Player Absent  --- #1 and #3 Player play alternate shots
                3. #3 Player Absent  --- #2 and #4 Player play alternate shots.
                4. #4 Player Absent ---- #3 Player plays two shots
  1. Each Player on an uneven team must have a minimum of four (4) drives

 

PRIZES

Prizes will be determined by the Major Tournament Chairman depending on the number of teams.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be a member of the men’s 18 hole golf club and have a current SCGA handicap and pay the entry fee.  Sign up at the June Men’s Club Meeting.

STANDBY AND CANCELLATION LISTS:

Cancellation and standby lists will be available at the Major Tournament Bulletin Board outside the Pro Shop.  Final cut-off for sign-ups will be Monday at 5:00 P.M., July 6, 2009.  After this time call for availability of tournament space.
