LAGUNA WOODS MEN GOLF CLUB CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT 2010 ENTRY FEE:  $10 FORMAT The Club Championship Tournament consists of three (3) rounds of Medal Play. Play starts on Wednesday, July 7th, continuing on July 14th and ending July 21st. All play will be on Courses 1 and 2. Handicaps will be based on each Golfers “July 2010 Index” as published in the July 2010 Handicap Report. FLIGHTS Five (5) flights will be used for the Club Championship Tournament. Each club members has the option of playing in the Championship Flight or the Flight designated for his July 2010 Index. The flights are as follows; Championship Flight - Open OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS. All members with a July Index of 9.9 or lower will be assigned to the Championship Flight. Golfers in this flight play from the blue tees and handicaps are not used. Flights A, B, C, (Indices from 10.0 to 23.9) Flight A = 10.0 to 14.2 Flight B = 14.3 to 19.2 Flight C = 19.3 to 23.9 Members play from White Tees and competitions score will be net scores. Flight D (Indices from 24.0 to 29.1) and Flight E (Indices from 29.1 to 36.4+) Fight D and Flight E members will play as one Flight. Members play from the Gold Tees and competitions score will be net scores. TOURNAMENT PROCEDURE: On the first day of play, foursomes will be assigned such that members with similar handicaps play in the same group. One the second and third round, foursomes will be assigned based on the outcome of previous play. Starting times will be set by the Tournament Director. Requests for early, mid-day or late play will be accommodated where possible. Please make request only on a mandatory basis. That is, if you cannot get your requested time, you cannot play in the tournament. Check in at the tournament desk for you score cards 30 minutes before your scheduled starting time. All score cards must be dated, signed and attested. Detailed “Rules of Play” will be posted prior to the Tournament. ELIGIBILITY and SIGN-UP: You must be a member of the men’s 18 hole golf club and have a current SCGA handicap and pay the entry fee. In addition, a member must play in at least two “Major” or 4 Wednesday tournaments during the calendar year to be eligible to play. All past Club Champions shall be exempt from the requirement to qualify for the Club Championship Tournament under this section. New members without an established “July Index” will be assigned a July Index by the Handicap Chairman. Sign up at the July Men’s Club Meeting. Players must sign up individually, the Tournament Chairman will form play groupings. STANDBY AND CANCELLATION LISTS Cancellation and standby lists will be available at the Major Tournament Bulletin Board. Final cut-off for sign-ups will be Monday at 6:00 P.M., August 3rd, 2009. After this time call the Tournament Director (Dan Davis) for availability of tournament space. The Tournament is closed at the end of the first day for new entries.
